Vertical 01 · Irrigation design & engineering consultancy

The engineering, before anything is bought.

For architects, landscape consultants, developers, farm owners and contractors who need irrigation engineered properly — and documented so it can be tendered, built and maintained.

When to bring us in

Before the mainline route is fixed and the pump is bought.

Most irrigation problems are designed in — a pump chosen on nominal HP, a filter sized for the wrong water, zones that cannot all run inside the available window.

Consultancy puts the engineering first: water demand, source availability, topography, pressure, hydraulics, operating philosophy and automation — documented as a design set any competent installer can build to.

Who it is for

Engineering that sits inside your project team.

Each engagement is scoped to what the project needs — a villa garden does not need a pump-curve verification report.

  1. Architects & landscape consultants

Irrigation drawings and specifications that sit alongside your landscape package and tender set.

  2. Developers

An independent design basis and BOQ to tender against, plus review of the installer’s work if you want it.

  3. Farms & estates

Crop-based water demand, hydraulics and pump duty for new plantations, or re-engineering an under-performing system.

  4. Contractors

Hydraulic design and detailed engineering for projects you execute yourself.

Deliverables

What a design package contains.

The full set, when the project warrants it. Anonymised samples are available on request.

Zoning, valve locations, lateral layout
Irrigation layout / zone plan
Flow, velocity, friction loss, residual pressure
Hydraulic calculation sheets
Pipe schedules, critical points
Mainline / sub-main sizing & profile
Derived from the system, not nominal HP
Pump duty & curve selection
Filtration, fertigation, protection
Head-control / pump-room schematic
Controllers, valves, sensors, communication
Automation architecture
Tender-ready, manufacturer-neutral where required
BOQ & technical specifications

How consultancy runs

Stages 1 to 6, delivered as a document set.

Data collection → water requirement → zoning → hydraulic engineering → equipment and automation → detailed engineering.

See the nine-stage process

  • Site survey where required: source, mainline routes, elevations, pump-room location, constraints
  • Design reviews with the consultant team at concept, detailed and tender stages
  • Manufacturer-neutral specifications, or specified brands where the project requires them
  • Compliance with project, consultant, manufacturer and applicable Indian and international codes
  • Optional execution review and commissioning witness
